Saga of the Pleasant Pheasants

The Owls are gone.  June sees the coming of the Pheasant season.

I noticed that the Lady of the Onion Bed was looking particularly furtive this morning.  I took every opportunity to abandon my work station and observe her closely.  I was rewarded by this sight:

She had 11 eggs under there.  She seemed to positively ripple with barely contained eruptions.  Until one would emerge...  It was like Alien but cuter, and with less blood.

You might ask yourself how she nourished such a bountiful brood:  I suggest a healthy and whole-grained diet.  Below, she eyes some quinoa:

And what of the father?  The Regal Beagle himself?  Observe below...

He mainly spends his days scrounging below the birdfeeder and strutting about for the benefit of his Other Ladies.  Any hint of paternal instincts have yet to surface.

Sunshine Bull and Obligatory Owl shots

My beloved neighbour, Large Ginger Bull, we do not have a close relationship, but I hope to change that.  Here he relaxes in the sun.
The large Owlet enjoys a tasty snack of Blackbird?

Blackbird hunting apparently exhausting, this bird needed a break.

Cute or evil?

Opening with owls

Because I have lots of pictures of owls, baby owls, and I need to display my owl finding prowess.
